Rosen Method Bodywork

"This work is about transformation from the person we think we are to the person we really are"

Introduction

I was introduced to Rosen in 2012 during a confused and hurtful time in my life, and didn’t know how to face it or which was the best way forwards. After my first session feeling the truth from within me I could move forward fearlessly.

After experiencing Rosen, I was hooked and I knew that Rosen was now a part of me. What I learnt from that first session was I need to spread the touch and introduce Rosen to as many people as I can, so they can also feel what lies within.

When we give ourselves the time to connect with the heart, and really feel what the truth is, we get back a wonderful gift of living truthfully with pure kindness.

What Rosen has also taught me is to listen, and take time for whatever has been said to resonate within the body and answer with kindness from the heart.

I have a lovely, small treatment room in Borough Green and also travel to London.

I have been on my journey for 7 years and am now an Intern to become a practioner.

What is Rosen

Rosen Method Bodywork is an original form of somatic approach which addresses physical tension. Its unique form of sensitive touch and verbal communication helps people to become aware of what they are holding – physically and emotionally – in their body. When the body is allowed to reveal its truth in a space of non-judgement, it can relax and let go of stress and pain. Rosen Method helps individuals to soften the barriers in their life so that they can live more fully, and the natural feelings of “embodied being” can become a source of joy.

It has long been recognised that touch can have a powerful effect on the body. When we are relaxed through touch our natural healing mechanisms work more effectively; the immune system is strengthened and the breath becomes less inhibited and more efficient. Certain touch encourages the release of the hormone oxytocin, increasingly recognised as an important agent in promoting feelings of well-being and connection.

Who is Rosen for?

Rosen sessions are for anyone interested in exploring how the body and the psyche work together – whether for health and well-being, personal and professional development, or for professional training. The aim is to help people to experience their full physical and emotional potential through increased awareness and relaxation.

During a session

A Rosen session lasts for about 50 minutes. The client lies on a massage table. Using their hands, the practitioner gently feels the muscular tensions of the body. This ‘listening touch’ and the dialogue between practitioner and client can lead to a deep relaxation in which chronic muscle tension may release and emotions may be experienced and processed.

Many clients are new to this kind of non-intrusive touch, where the aim is not to fix the client but to bring about ease and relaxation. The aim of the session is to establish contact and awareness. There is more time for thoughts, feelings and sensations to be experienced fully – leading over time to a more integrated experience of the self and greater self-acceptance.

Sometimes clients laugh or cry, experience memories or feelings, and sometimes they have a profound sense of connection with life. Sessions are as varied as the individuals who choose to experience them.
